How to find us?
By car:
M4 junction 15, take the A346 for 4 miles towards Marlborough. Turn off main road after passing the Ogbourne Downs Golf Club. From Swindon or Aldbourne, go under the main road, “The Inn With The Well” is on the left.
From the south: A346 through Marlborough, then 3 miles towards Swindon go past Southend and Hallam, then take the next left. When you enter the village, you will see the Inn with the Well up ahead.
By train:
First Great Western trains to Swindon or Bedwyn. Tickets from Paddington to Bedwyn seem to be cheaper than to Swindon. Then by bus using the the number 20 or 22 bus to Marlborough or taxi.
By coach:
National Express coach:
From Heathrow airport, get the X403 or 222 coach. From London Victoria or Earls Court, get the X403 coach.
From Gatwick airport, get the 222 coach.
All coaches on the 222 route go to Swindon.
As far as we know, people need to book seats on the express coaches in advance. By local bus: Stagecoach route 70 and 71 from Swindon or Marlborough. Ask for the bus stop at the Marlborough end of the village you will see the Inn from the bus stop.
Alternatively, the Wilts and Dorset route X5 from Swindon or Pewsey. Please note: this is now a Monday-Saturday only service. This route stops on the village by-pass, and does not come through the village itself. From the bus stop on the A346, it is a five minute walk. Details on the X5 route can be found here.
Route X5 on Sundays is now a Stagecoach route 5.
The local buses are “pay on entry”, so have some UK cash in your pocket
By Bicycle or Walking
We are on the Ridgeway and are lucky to have a disused railway track very close by (links Marlborough and Chiseldon). We have a bike rack and a hosepipe to wash your bikes down.
